Spectral Souls II PSN release date + Persona 3 Portable announced!

Mon, 10th Jan 2011 | Posted by Al

Hi all,

First up, Happy New Year!

We're back from the Christmas holidays with a bang, so lets get straight to our first announcement, and it's a goodie: we're happy to announce that Idea Factory's awesome S-RPG 'Spectral Souls: Resurrection of the Ethereal Empires' (PSP) will be available to buy from the PSN store on 26th January 2011. To support the release we also have a dedicated 'SS:RotEE' website, giving more details about the game. Go and check it out! :)

Right, now on to the BIG news for the early part of 2011. As some people have already speculated via an erroneous product entry on a major games retailers website, we will be releasing the seminal 'Persona 3 Portable' for PSP in 2011! Funnily enough at that time we were only in early discussions with Atlus; not a contract in sight. However, all that aside, we've been lucky enough to secure 'P3P' for a European release since then, which is a happy coincidence! :) Still, the extra activity online certainly hasn't hurt, so thanks for all the enquiries we've had. Anyhow, we're now in a position to confirm that YES; WE ARE DOING THE GAME!

Details aren't totally fleshed out yet, but we can confirm that, for the collectors out there, there will be a boxed version including some 'Collector's Edition' - type goodies for you to obsess over! ;)  And - for the environmentally conscious among you - we'll also be releasing a PSN download version. When we have more firm news you'll find it here first.

As quite a few of you e-mail us with your ideas for games you would like us to bring to the European market, and ask questions on the products we already have for sale, we're also aiming to publish a Ghostlight blog in the very near future. This way it'll be easier for us to manage your questions and get you more info, more quickly. So, once the blog has been born, be sure to sign up to the RSS feed.

In the meantime, to keep up to date with all things Ghostlight related, please check back here regularly. Also, don't forget we have Twitter and Facebook pages where smaller pieces of info are leaked every now and then.

So, 'til the next instalment of J-RPG goodness; happy gaming!

Expect your information to be posted by me on here: www.ps3clan.nl - a Dutch gaming website, focussing on PlayStation-gaming. And great news considering Persona 3 Portable! But I wonder when we'll hear new news about Agarest Senki 2/Zero ;)
Adam says:

hey Al I was wondering will P3P be released on PSN in Australia too? I'm so eager to try out that game. Thanks.
[GL] Al says:

Hi Adam, We're currently not planning on releasing on the Australian PSN Store just yet although it'll most likely be coming to Australia and NZ shortly. If there's an overwhelming demand then this may well change, so get that petition going! ;)

Hi! At first, thanks for bringing P3P to Europe. As I am moving to Digital Download versions when possible, I really appreciate that you will also bring it to the PS Store. I just have one suggestion about P3P, it would be awesome if we could have the choice between the american voice acting, and the original japanese one. I'd even gladly pay a DLC in order to get the japanese one ;-).

I rememeber hearing people complaining about the SFX being too loud in Persona 3 Portable. So much so that they had a hard time strapping their headphones on. Not only did I hear them say it, I experienced it in first hand. They're simply too loud, either that or the music is too quiet. I'm not sure if that's how it was in the PS2 versions but do you guys have any plans to fix it? Also, will there be an option for multiple languages?
Jacob says:

I agree with SteaG, Japanese voice acting as an exta would've been great. Not sure how big of an issue it'd be considering how much voice acting there is in the game. But it would definitely be appreciate it if you took your time to get it in there. The English voices are already excellent, but the addition of japanese voices would've been a nice treat for us all.
JiBung says:

For P3P, Would it be possible to have "The Answer" as in FES ? even with DLC on the PSN ! Special content for collector's version could be cutscenes removed in the original version ? Let me dream ^^
[GL] Al says:

Thanks everyone for all your questions. We'll get back to you as soon as we can regarding sounds, voice overs. Expect some news next week. :) @JiBung - I'll check about The Answer for you... can't confirm anything just yet I'm afraid. Thanks everyone!
Alex says:

In respond to JiBung A Metis "skin" for Aigis as a special costume would be awesome if anythig. Makes Aegis look like her younger sister Metis during battle. Aigis always had the least amount of costumes in the game, so adding this would be really awesome. I know that's probably impossible to add, but like JiBung said, let us dream.

For those who don't see my comment on the latest blog post, regrettably we aren't able to include any additional content 'in game'. However we're working on a nice, SCEE-unique Collector's Edition for you guys, which we hope you'll love. More news soon - we'll let you know as soon as things are confirmed. :)

If one of the extras in the CE edition is an UMD with Japanese voice acting, then count me in!
