First Agarest Zero DLC Bundle released today

Thu, 1st May 2014 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone.  Today is the day that the first of the Agarest: Generations of War Zero DLC bundles will be released.  The bundle will feature the Daily Extension Pack, the Formidable Pack and the Extra Points Pack 3 and will be priced at £3.99 as opposed to £5.77, which it cost to purchase all these DLC items individually on console.

Since we announced the various bundles in a previous blog post we’ve had a few people ask why we decided to go down this route rather than releasing each of the pieces of DLC separately.  After the release of  Agarest: Generations of War last year there was a feeling among many of our community that the list of DLC was perhaps too overwhelming due to the number of different pieces of DLC.  After some discussion on a feedback thread it seemed to me that while the majority of people did want all the DLC from the console release to be available on PC, the weekly release of several individual pieces of was not ideal and that when all the DLC was released it made for a rather overwhelming list.

During these discussions it was suggested to us that instead of releasing each item separately we offer them as discounted bundles.  Looking back through the discussion again this seems to be the one of the more popular options.  And from our point of view balances the desire to replicate the options available in the original release without overwhelming people with too lengthy a list of DLC.

Having said that we are always interested in hearing what you have to say.  So, if you have any comments about how we are handling the DLC please let us know.  We’re still experimenting with how we handle ports of games with lots of DLC options such as the Agarest series and we really do appreciate your help with this.  Any feedback will be taken on board for future releases but may also alter how we handle the DLC in Agarest Zero.

In other news, we’ve also been busy working on a patch for the few remaining unresolved issues in Agarest: Zero this week.  We’ve already sent a test build out to some of the people who have been experiencing a rather bizarre issue with the backgrounds.  We’re expecting feedback from them soon, which should hopefully allow us to put together a patch fixing this issue.

Finally we received another great Agarest Zero review from the team at Gamepinion, who had the following to say: “All around, Agarest Zero is a great Strategy RPG that PC gamers should be delighted to have. If you enjoyed those loveable Squaresoft games back in the PSOne era, then this is absolutely worthy of your time and attention. It may not do a lot new, but it sure as hell delivers fresh and fun strategy gameplay, with enough style that the lack of innovation is rarely in the players mind.”

I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.
