Even more tips to curry favour with Sorcery Saga: Now even spicier

***SPOILER ALERT!!*** Note that this blog contains some tips on the game which can be considered spoilers if you want to learn as you go. You’ve been warned! ***SPOILER ALERT!!***

Hi everyone, as promised I'm back again with more hints to help you out in our spicy roguelike Sorcery Saga. Before reading this one, make sure you check out part one to see all the tricks I shared earlier.

Level up your equipment!

This spear is started to look pretty nice. ^^

This is probably the most important step I can recommend because your attack/defence/resistance-based stats will only increase based on your weapon and shield, not on Pupuru’s level (which only affects your max health.) You want to level up your weapons to increase their abilities but also to increase the number of slots they have. Slots lead on to the next tip…

Craft carefully!

Here's an example of a BAD craft. Going ahead would waste the scroll's 'Abilities +8' slot. :(

Be sure that when you’re blending weapons together using the crafting menu that you have enough slots to maximise the abilities available to the weapon that’s produced during crafting. It’s no use crafting 2 abilities together if the subject of your crafting only supports one slot, so level the weapon/shield you want to enhance adequately before you craft. Also, try crafting with ‘Secret Scroll’ when you find it. :)

Make money while you Shop!

The blade to the shop keeper's right (above Kuu) is the money-making 'Decadent Dirk'. Swaaag!

Every 10 levels or so you’ll encounter a shop-keep or merchant during your dungeoneering. You can buy some cool stuff here but if you’re holding the decadent Dirk weapon you can also make a lot of money. By dropping the item then talking to the shopkeeper you can sell it for way more than it costs to buy back. Buy it back by picking it up but be sure to talk to the shopkeeper before you leave to complete the transaction. Like many roguelike’s, there’s not much future in angering the merchants! :-\

Be careful with unknown items:

If I equip this 'King's Sword?' I'll find out about it, BUT I may not be able to equip my spear after. :-\

This is a very important tip later in the game, when you may have very powerful equipment in hand. Equipping something you haven’t identified can sometimes leave you with a cursed item you can’t unequip and later in the game enemies often screw around with the stuff in your inventory that ISN’T equipped, which can lead to your many hours of crafting going up in smoke. Use Kuu’s Eye of God skill or the Assay Scroll to appraise anything you’re not sure of if you’ve got a good weapon1/shield in hand.

Some valuable items:

Slowly amassing a good stash of gear back home in my Item Box. Secret Scrolls are great!

One final tip! Here are some cool items that it’s good to collect during a playthrough of Sorcery Saga:

Secret Scroll: This is great to craft into weapons, provided there’s an empty slot.

Green Orb: Another one that’s a great health boon to crafting weapons, slot permitting.

Decadent Dirk: Make a fortune selling and buying this back. You can max out your cash if you have the patience…

Transport Book: Lets you return to Dish Town without losing your items.

Magic Compact: Use this on other junk items to have a high chance of creating new Tomes. Read the Tomes to learn new spells or level up existing ones.

That’s all for now. If you have any tips of your own you’d like to share, please let us know in the comments below. We’d love to learn from you! ^_^
