Competition Time
Hi Everyone
I hope those of you who went all had a great time at the London Expo - I know I did. It was great to see people wearing our Persona 3 Portable T-Shirts. I won’t be doing a Q&A this week but please keep the questions coming.
There’s not much new to tell you about Agarest: Generations Of War Zero at the moment as it’s still being tested by Sony. Talking of Sony it was great to see the PSN Store back online yesterday, so why not take a look at our excellent range of games available on PSN To celebrate the return of PSN, the lovely people over at Ready Up have decided to run a competition with a PSN Voucher for the mighty Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos on PSP as the prize. To enter simply retweet this tweet and then follow Ready Up and Ghostlight on twitter and while you’re doing that there’s no excuse for not following me as well. So if like Pepsi_Biofusion in last week’s blog you have been thinking about joining us on twitter, this is the perfect time to do so.
Finally as a little treat for those of you who read our blog, whilst I’m not allowed to go into much detail about new titles I can tell you that a list of 5 JRPG's we are trying to pick up, wafted its way into my inbox recently. The list includes 3 handheld games and 2 on home console. I can’t tell you any more about them at the moment but feel free to speculate wildly in the comments :)

If it is be Fate/Extra, I would **** brix. But joking aside, I think that most of them will be games from Atlus too.

i did happen to come across something from another game site that did mention that ghostlight our wicked people here have had talks with atlus about catherine so it could be that but i cant swear by it i hope ghostlight that you do bring it to the eu.
@adrian I'm not allowed to say either way on that I'm afraid. When I can give you more on all 5 of the games I will.
Luminous Arc 3!!! I want the people in America to envy us!!! Catherine has been the most guessed but meh. Catherine doesn`t count as a JRPG does it? LA3!!!!!!! Black rock shooter has been confirmed for US release but hasn`t been released in Japan yet. Maybe confirmation of an EU release. Corpse Party!!! its not like Ghostlight have released any scary games. ARRRGH!!! Will you be announcing all 5 at the same time? When will you announce it? I wanna know! I wanna know!! I WANNA KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As long as we have pretty anime girls, +160 points if they`re good at kicking ass then I`m happy. But seriously I WANNA KNOW!!!!!!!! Ross, have you heard about Queen`s Gate Spiral Chaos coming to Japan next month. Its a JRPG that has girls from various franchises such as Tekken, Guilty Gear and Blazblue. I`m not counting on it but considering how it has a cross-over story of some very popular gaming franchises it may get attention. I still have hopes for Brandish for PSP.

I've been doing my drawings but I promise to start a twitter soon. But on the questions front I have two, is it at all likely you would consider localisation of non-jrpgs allready done so for the US, such as Arcania Heart 3? Also working with numerous developers overseas sounds hectic, so may I ask, what level of communication you have with them aswell as explain why localisations can take years? Anyway I can't wait to see what you'll localise... as long as theres a PS3 game.
@michaelius It won't be Legend Of Heroes, Xseed are releasing it themselves on PSN network it's already been rated by Pegi. :) Handheld: Devil Survivor: Overclocked (3DS) Persona 1 (PSP) Growlanser 1 (PSP) (oh! how I can dream) Console: Catherine (PS3) (hopefully you can partner with someone to get the XB360 version out aswell if you have it) Shiren The Wanderder (Wii) (though I'm hoping for Arc Rise Fantasia)

If Catherine is included in that list I'll love you guys forever! As for the handhelds, I can't be the only one hoping for Persona 2 and Devil Survivor 2 (and Fate/Extra???)
@Shaki Thanks for the suggestion. My definition of RPG tends to be fairly loose, comes from my tabletop RPG days I guess so I would personally count Catherine as a RPG. Negotiations for all 5 games are still ongoing at the moment and we may not get all 5. I'd imagine we'll announce each game when negotiations have finished. @Pepsi_Biofusion Thanks for the questions. I think I'll save them for the next Q&A blog if you don't mind. @Cam I'm not allowed to talk about any of them because as we're still negotiating for the 5 games we are under NDA.

@Jake It will be. We don't have a date yet but keep your eye on the blog or follow us on twitter and we'll keep you up to date.
I'm a bit late to the party, but I'd like to add my predictions. Handheld: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Radiant Historia. Home console: Catherine, Trauma Team (I know it's not really an RPG, but Ross said his definition of the term is rather loose, so...)
@Ben Don't worry about it. The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.
Yeah, I'm in the P2:TsumiPSP, DS:O, DS2 and dual-Catherine camp. Does Catherine on two consoles count as two games? *sigh* What I would love to see - and I've pretty much given up hope at this point - is the second Devil Summoner PS2 game (King Abaddon).
@KoolZoid I'm counting any game that appears on multiple formats as one game.
Doesn't this E3 spirit make you just want to announce them already? No? It was a worth a shot. I'm personally hoping for Catherine, Devil Survivor Overclocked, Persona 2 Portable and 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors.
You hear that everyone! One of the 5 games is avaialable on multiple consoles. Still though I`m with Shaki on Luminous Arc 3 in particular. I`ve been waiting in vain. Catherine is certainly a welcome. Also Shaki I know about NISA releasing BRS(Black Rock Shooter) in America and how EU release hasn`t been confirmed yet but can Ghostlight do that? Queen`s Gate looks interesting and I find it hard to say whether an english release is possible since due to its ecchi content but you`re kind of right that one of the biggest selling points is the cross-over of characters from verious major popular game franchises, there are also various anime crossovers in it too. Hope for the future I guess. Ross!! any update on Agarest Zero site?
@Kyose I'd love to announce things but talks are still ongoing so we might not even get all 5. @CLOWN Maybe :) The Agarest Zero site should go live when pre-orders are open.

@Clown I hope so. I think the 3DS is region locked so you won't be able to import it but I will look into it and pass the information on to my boss.
Please, oh god please, let it be Catherine!!! Oh and for handhelds, I'm hoping Persona 2 Innoccent Sin. I downloaded Persona for PSP from the store, so if the second one comes out for us too, I would like to see a UMD release. If not, I won't mind a download, I'll just have to top up my wallet on the PSN :P
Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Devil Survivor 2... My bet. Well and I think Catherine could make it to a home console, but it's actually no RPG... hmmm....
@CLOWN. Kagura? Isn't that a bit... risqué? I wish you every luck in trying to persuade someone to publish, but I can't see it leaving Japan myself (although it is admittedly more likely to see a European release than a US one).

If its region-locked then that will be very bad, for me at least. PS3, PSP and DS can play imports which is fine. Well with Arcana Heart 3 coming out from Zen I suppose this game may have a shot too, thanks Ross. I hope this turns out to be the first or one of the first 3DS games Ghostlight releases. I cannot stop staring at the umbrella juggling the truck, SERIOUSLY!!! Is there anything you can tell us about the 5 games? How many of the 5 are available on multiple consoles? If its just 1 then I`m just everyone will scream "Catherine" back. So yeah anything!?

@Ross sniffs but will be patient. @Ben although not as strong DOA does the breast jiggle and if Arcana Heart 3 can be released here then I`m sure Kagura has a shot. By the way I imported the Jap version of Arcana Heart 3 then 2 weeks later I found out an english release was coming in like 5 months. Also I`m willing to bet Queens Gate which Shaki mentioned is more risque however he made the point that it may get released due to franchises involved which are titles which any gamer of almost any age would know. I think somebody mentioned Criminal Girls in a previous blog. the gameplay actually looks interesting but its been given a Cero D rating which is like between 15 and 18. I would expect a C but that may suggest that the content maybe too high level. I`m willing to hope especially now that I`ve found that 3DS is locked SNIFF. Point is let Ross mention it Ghostlight and hope for the best. To be optimistic the 3DS just came out so there arent that many Anime-ish titles out yet. And since theres so little and its fresh if we demand it enough I`m willing to bet Kagura has a shot. Heck Ben and myself have shown we`ve heard of it. Ross could say that more than 1 person is aware of the game and I like to establish that there is VERY LITTLE in 3DS that Ghostlight could release so there you go. Plus Arcana Heart 3 got released in the UK with one of those breast mats if you order from Zen`s site. SONS UV!! I was going to order Arcana Heart 3 special edition from their site but Zens in Japan and I was going to get charged taxes. TAXES FOR A UK GAME!!!!!!! @ROSS AGAIN I know you like seeing us guess what games the 5 could be but considering how all the main possibilities were guessed at the start, it becomes pointless to continue since there almost nothing else to guess, unless you give us a clue. I`m not saying you should or asking but if you want more guesses in this blog, then give us a bone by giving us a clue such as the genre of the game like horror for example. Anyway I`ll this. out of the 5 games assuming they`ve already been released in Japan, I want to see Luminous Arc 3 for DS and Catherine for PS3 mainly. I have a strong suspicion that the other games people have mentioned are true so thats that. For the future i sincerely hope to see Queens Gate, BRS(assuming NISA only let the americans keep it), Corpse Party book of shadows and Kagura for 3DS. Please prevent us from illegally getting our games by allowing us to buy them in our region.

My last post was long!!!! ummmmm. lets see... Ummm. I know!!! With Agarest Zero you`re planning to give the shirt to those who pre-order from Ghostlights site. and of course special editions of all your games come with nice goodies. In the future will Ghostlight consider selling other merchandise separately from special edition games like more shirts, caps, mugs, book-markers etc. based on the games you have released. Persona and Agarest seem to be your most popular titles so perhaps merchandise based on them.
@Clown Its not really something I'm involved in but I believe the idea has been mentioned. But there are no plans at the moment.
If separate merchandise ever is considered (I don't know how likely it would be), then please sell a set of Persona 3 tarot cards. I'd buy them in a flash.
Just took a few moments to realize Ross not being involved in that department but Agarest CG`s on playing cards is also a treat. We will not speak of mercandise anymore, at least not in this blog. I really hope Trails in the Sky is one of those five games, maybe with a nice European limited edition like Persona 3 Portable :) Trails is definitely one of the best jrpgs of the current generation, the attention to detail and the writing's quality was really something else.
@Ladius I'm not allowed to say what games we are trying to get but I agree Trails is a great game. The translation was excellent and I particularly enjoyed the messages in the treasure chests.
