Agarest: Generations of War Zero has been delayed
Hi everyone.
I’m sorry to have to tell you that, sadly, due to problems in manufacturing, we have had to delay the release of Agarest: Generations of War Zero until August. We would like to apologise for the disappointment this will cause anyone who has pre-ordered this game and those who were looking forward to the release. All those that have pre-ordered the game directly from us have been contacted.
It’s always disappointing when a game is delayed particularly when it happens so close to the original release date. We are aware that the date on the game’s page has not been updated yet. This is due to absence and it will be updated early next week.
We will be updating this blog post when we have a confirmed release date for you. If you have any comments or questions please feel free to leave them in the comments section below. We understand that many of you will be angry and we would like to assure you that we are doing everything possible to release Agarest: Generations of War Zero as soon as we can and that we expect to release Agarest: Generations of War Zero within the next few weeks.

It's a shame that it has been delayed..that means lesser time to play this 1, since there are many good games lined up for releasing like COD xD (surely hope the delay is min.)
You can also say sorry that you Fail, to grab catherine the game GL may have know about catherine but couldn't say, you had a great opportunity but drop the ball, it now gonna be release by deep silver, i don't know if i should laugh or cry is GL starting to be like SCEE a helpless useless cause. :(
@Kasing Thanks for being so understanding. We'll try to get it out as soon as possible so it doesn't clash with too many games.
Don't worry about. :) It's not like we don't have any other games to play during that time.
@Alistair We would have loved to do Catherine as it looks to be a great game Unfortunately for various reasons we were unable to licencse it. Personally I'm just glad it is getting a European release even if I would have preferred to work on it myself.
Alistair don´t blame ghostlight for something like that who would have expected a company like deep-silver 2 publish a anime game. and i do have 2 admit SCEE is useless it´s probably their fault that P3P still ain´t on the store
kinda 2 bad about the delay atleast that leave´s more time for me 2 platinum dynasty warriors gundam 3.
I still hope for Ghostlight to publish Devil Survivor OverClocked in Europe. Unlike Catherine(PS3), OverClocked is completely region-locked.
Just had my email from you guys. Its a dam shame :( I actually pre ordered this very morning it was abit of a shock. booooo. But nevermind at least your actually taking the time to fix the cards and not release them as dodgey quality. And as everyones on about publishing future games, any chance of persona 2 Ross?
Thanks everyone for being so understanding @dgnfly We've started work on the PSN verions of P3P so hopefully not too long now. Good to see another person enjoying Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3. I'm having fun smashing Giant Robots when I'm not at work. @EnigmaticHat It's a game we're looking at as we all love the SMT series. I'm not sure if it's gone any further than that at this stage.
@Craig Talk about bad timing. Sorry about that. We've been looking at it but at this stage I can't say too much about Persona 2.
Oh well nothing you can do i guess =) i got plenty to play but been lusting for some agarest lately!

As you said I am very angry, been looking forward to it for months and this happens almost a week prior to its release date. I`m not going to be a whiny A-Hole since Ghostlight actually is going through the trouble to bring this game out and its had a good record so far. The reason is the cards huh. I sincerely hope this problem is resolved soon hopefully 2 weeks, no 3 weeks max. sigh... I get back from work and I see this. Sorry I`m just a little depressed. Ross please update this post just as you have been doing and keep us up to date on Zero. Also I WANT ZERO!!!!! I ALREady paid you!!! I Want it now NOW NOW NOW!!!!
a little delay isn't too bad, we might be able to get it when the dlc will be available on the psn with some luck, @ Ross about the currency in my other comment , it's euro, you know the one nearly everyone but british use in europe :)
It can happen! I hope it will be sorted out and I can definitely wait a few more weeks for the game. I have too much other RPGs to finish anyway, like Catherine and Ys series!
actually I'm not blaming Ghostlight i understand Atlus had a say who will publish catherine they decided it will be deep silver, it took me by shock i didn't think deep silver will, I'm still a GL supporter i got & played GL products. still couldn't use the GL store Ps3 browser= Not good. it is a shame a game is push back a slight delay is alright unlike SCEE 4 years delay=Useless, loh-tits will be a day 1 for me nipon are a fab dev who made the legendary Ys series. :)
I was hoping to be playing this in August. I am going away for vacation in september :( Lets hope you guys can make it an early August release! Good luck solving the problems!

Thanks for the heads up - Hopefully it'll arrive before I go on holiday, but it'll still give me something to look forward to : ) @Alistair: Not cool dude, not cool. I'm disappointed that Catherine won't be a GL release as it would have been a pretty big title for them (and I would have safely assumed that GL'd have gone the extra mile to give us a decent LE/CE) but I'm satisfied that GL's doing more than enough - Catherine is just *one* game, there are other opportunities for GL to focus on. Also, while I haven't been interested in ANY of Deep Silver's past releases, I'm curious to see how they handle this...
So, I will burn GL in the flame of anger for eternity...or not ^^ Not a problem for me, still have many games to play with and it is not like if it was canceled ;)
Ross, This isn't regarding the delay as I'm a patient man, and still looking forward to my limited edition immensly. I just wanted to ask; Is it possible for you guys to put some Agarest Senki Zero avatars up on PSN? I'd be more than happy to buy a bunch of them so I can finally have some decent anime avatars. I think plenty of people would buy them, as a lot of us are raving fanboys.
To be honest a few weeks is nothing, infact for me its a good thing as I just got Ferrari Challenge and Supercar Challenge, I want to get through at least one of them before Agarest. Plus I'm still stocked about a 40 pound LE, are you sure the figures add up?
such a pity that the EU release is delayed :(. I hope you can use the time to fix some bugs, because I know that on the 360 version of RoAW Zero the Ex-Skills of some "special" Monsters won´t show up with their normal name. For example Monster XYZ´s Ex-Skill 1: Impulse Wave is renamed in "MobSkill Back-up3" or "MobSkill Back-up5". I also have a question about the Monsters. Is it possible to carry over your captured Monsters to a New Game+, because I heard in Zero it´s impossible to carry over Monsters to a New Game+?
Well even though i don't mind the wait, as i haven't completed the first game yet, I'd definitely like to recommend that you skip 3D lenticular art cards in the future. :D As the 3D is usually just pointless and meaningless, i think people should prefer an earlier game to a wait for some 3D cards. Then again, i might be wrong, and people could be strange enough to want the 3D cards more than the game. :p
I think I will forgive you if you translate Agarest 2 too :p
too bad it's delayed. Should give me some more time though to clear the first agarest game. Only halfway through the story right now.
delay is a bit let down but i am still getting agarest zero. and for catherine i really hope you guys the one will get it, since i am hoping the european version to have either dual voice option or undubbed version:P but it is something that already done. now there is still a lot of japanese PS3 games unlocalized like the upcoming 2nd SRW OG, or IDOLM@STER 2(yes idolmaster coming to PS3 this october, and this one of the game that not need dub at all!),Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta!9this one is STG(shooting game) so the effort for localization will not be that huge) or maybe you guys can try getting vesperia ps3. other jp PS3 title still no one localized: gundam senki record UC0081, ken to mahou to gakuen mono/class of heroes 2g and 3, yakuza kenzan, Boku no Natsuyasumi 3, aquanuts etc there is also a lot nice PS3 Visual novel, like To heart 2 dx (coming this september), clannad, umineko, tears to tiara,fortune arterial, suzumiya haruhi no tsuiso, white album etc (all of this have anime so it isn't really that unknown in anime fans/niche market), maybe you guys can try work together with mangagamer to bring some visual novel to PS3, since they are also european based company, but bringing PC visual novel to the west (both ero(nsfw) and all ages version(sfw)) note: all console/handheld all are all age version with no ero content and title i mention are more tame compared to some agarest cg scene just some suggestion for future title:P

If I get time I'll dig up a copy and have a look.
@ManaAlchemist I'm actually quite curios to see what the cards are going to be like. @Zeispharn :) I'd imagine we'll look into it but it will partly depend how Agarest Zero does. @Srainza I'll look into it and pass your suggestions on.

it's a bit dissappointing but i'm not worried because i have so many games to finish XD i have only one question to ask you because i wanted to preorder it today...are there t shirt left? i want it :D please answer me soon!
@SuN thanks for that. We won't be able to make any changes to the game at this point unfortunately as that would mean we'd have to start over again from the beginning and submit the game again but I'll email your link to the producer.

Dont mind the delay, just tried pre-order from ghostlight. I buy ghostlight games through amazon a fair bit but thought id try buy directly this time. When dreaded vertified by visa came up i had bad feeling but i think my password was right so hopefully it will go through ok. Any chance adding a paypal option?. Anyway good luck with game and the delay hopefully wont be too bad.
@John m Thanks for pre-ordering from us. I believe it comes up with a message if the password is incorrect.
Just wondering are we talking a week or weeks or even months with this? I was going to start Disgaea 3 if it will be a while but won't if its a week or so.
Hi Ross, I got the message from Daren. It's not too bad that it has been delayed slightly (compared to how long most people was waiting for Gran Turismo 5 from so many delays). I just wanted to get your views on something else. I have already pre-ordered the collector's edition of Agarest Zero (which will go great alongside my Agarest: Generations Of War collector's edition), but I was wondering if you guys at Ghostlight are now going to start work on bringing the UK Agarest 2? Looking on Wikipedia, Japan have had it for nearly a year now. It will be awesome to get this game from you too! Thanks for your time Ross and I'll continue to wait patiently for Agarest Zero in the meantime! :)
@Barry Walsh I've been told its a matter of weeks probably to mid August but I don't have an exact release date yet. @Yasuda2007 We're definitely aware of Agarest 2 but it will depend on a number of factors such as the success of Agarest Zero.
I have a feeling after the initial success of Agarest: Generations Of War and the current number of people who are anticipating the release of Agarest Zero, I could pretty much see looking forward to you doing Agarest 2. I mean...there will be many GhostLight fans here that would be disappointed if we didn't get it. :P
@Yasuda2007 On a personal level I'd like to work on it. I've done a lot of work on the Agarest series and have grown quite fond of it but I won't be able to say either way now.
I understand Ross, especially as work on Agarest 2 will take a considerable amount of time. So I'll look forward to Agarest Zero and keep checking up on the site for extra information in the near future. Thanks to you and the whole GhostLight team for giving us excellent games! :)

Too bad but I really hope it won't take too long, already preordered it from you guys like always. Ross I hope you will bring Agarest 2 ans Persona 2 here too. And just one question, you said you like giant robots and Gundam, is there a possibility to see the next Gundam vs Extreme on PS3 in the GL cart or the licence cost are too high for you (or you are just interested about JRPG not mechs games for GL) ? @Project Sora The first Agarest game does not have trophies. @Seishoujyo While I'm a bit of a Gundam nut I'm not the person who decides what games we go for. I'll pass some information on the game on to him though.
Maybe its too soon but any word on the Zero cards? Also have all 5 secret games been revealed? If not I hope Luminous Arc 3 is one of them.
Hi, according to Eurogamer.com The Record of Agarest (the first one) is coming to XB360 games of demand in August in Europe. Are you guys releasing it or is Aksys doing it themselves?
@Qwaser I'm going to chase that up today, As for the 5 games we've announced 1 of them Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. @Matt I don't think we're doing that one.

I saw on amazon today that the collectors edition will be released on the 19th of august, so look like its another three weeks but will be well worth the wait

@Lycer Thats not confirmed as far as I'm aware but I'm pushing for a release date. @ObviusFault We're a pretty small team so word spreads around fairly quickly. I'm a bit slow this morning so I don't have the exact number :)
Another question... when you ship oversees lets use norway as an excample. do you ship very early to make sure it gets there in time of realease date or do you send it the day of realease? sry for bad english :S
@ObviusFault We try to send out all pre-order copies a few days before the release date to make sure they arrive on that day at the latest. I think most of our games manage to make it to mainland Europe in time too.
it out at 19th august anyway so not long, i hope they will not delay it again, i am looking forward to playing it :S
