Agarest: Generations of War Zero A Week On From Release

Thu, 24th Apr 2014 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone,

If you weren’t aware, Agarest: Generations of War Zero, the prequel to #1 Steam Top Seller (and recently discounted) Agarest: Generations of War , has been on sale for a week on Steam!

We thank you for all your emails and comments of support.  It’s been great to hear from so many of you who are really enjoying the prequel.

As you would expect from a PC release, due to the huge variety of PC machines out there, we’ve had a few bugs reported although the number of problems have been far less of an issue than when we released the original Agarest: Generations of War.  This decrease in launch window issues is all down to the hard work put in by both the beta test team and - of course - the development team at Laughing Jackal.  You know who you are - thanks guys! :)

For those of you who have been experiencing problems, we put out the first post-release patch yesterday which addresses a number of issues:

  1. A bug has been fixed in the tutorial where some players couldn’t progress if their agility was too high.
  2. Also included is an improvement to the user interface as we added a +/- 10 function to buying and selling in the shops.
  3. A couple of small text issues were found and fixed.
  4. Plus a few other very minor issues.

We do have a couple of users who are still experiencing problems with the game and we are dealing with them directly.  Obviously we will continue to fix the problems that Agarest Zero players report and will continue releasing patches to resolve these issues and others that may crop up.

The reviews have started to come in from the press.  First up, from Twinfinite who, in their 4/5 review, called Agarest Zero: “...a unique title even in today’s diverse landscape.”

OtakugamersUK also enjoyed, Agarest Zero,  awarding it 7/10 and saying: "...thankfully the games tactically deep combat system & interesting features continue to shine with the bump in resolution afforded allowing the nice art of the title to breathe a little more too."

If reading those reviews has whetted your appetite, Agarest Zero is available here for $19.99.

In other news for those of you who have been asking I’ve been told that the first Agarest Zero DLC bundle will be out next week.  The bundle will feature the Daily Extension Pack, the Formidable Pack and the Extra Points Pack 3 and will be released next Thursday.  For more information on the bundles and why we have chosen to go this route please see my earlier blogpost.

I’ll be back next week, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.
