Agarest comes to Steam Greenlight

Fri, 5th Apr 2013 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone.   Some of you may remember when we spoke previously about bringing console JRPGs to PC and quite a few people seemed quite interested in the idea :).  Well I can now reveal that our first PC title will be a port of Agarest: Generations of War which has just gone up on the Steam Greenlight service where you can vote for it here.

The port itself will be based on the North American Xbox 360 version and will feature Aksys’ excellent translation.  In addition to that we are looking to include support for both gamepad and mouse and keyboard and Steam achievements.

The port itself will be handled by our good friends at Laughing Jackal who are already hard at work on it.

Agarest: Generations of War itself is a turn-based Strategy Role-Playing Game (SRPG) in which the player guides a family of heroes through five generations. At the end of each generation the player will choose a girl for their hero to marry, but only those who the hero has developed a relationship with can be selected. The Agarest story is an epic fantasy spanning multiple generations, but with a lot of humour and frequent shifts of tone from the more serious to funnier moments.

More information on the game can be found on its Greenlight page here.

I would like to reassure you that this will in no way delay work on the Devil Survivor Overclocked fix* of which we are hoping to have more news for you soon.

That’s all for now.  Please remember to vote for Agarest on Greenlight here.  I’ll be back next week with more news from Ghostlight. Until then you can follow Ghostlight on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight.  You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.

*Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked Known Issues

  1. The game may freeze when you summon demons in battle.  If you experience this, please leave the game running for approximately 3 to 5 minutes, after which the game will continue.
  2. There is a very infrequent hang which may occur when using the ‘”Auction House”.  We therefore recommend saving your game prior to using this feature.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and of course realise that the solutions above are far from ideal.  We are currently working towards a fix so please keep an eye our blog and social media for more updates.
