Agarest 2 gets a PSN release date (and news for our Finnish fans)

Hi everyone.  We’ve got a lot of Agarest: Generations of War 2 news for you this week.  Firstly I am happy to let you know that we now have a PSN release date for Agarest 2, which will be available on the PSN Store from the 7th November for just €34.99/£28.49.

Of course, this means that those of you who prefer to download your games can now play this epic JRPG.

Some of you have also pointed out that the Agarest 2 DLC has so far been missing from the Finnish Store. This was caused by differing metadata requirements in this country.  This issue has now been resolved and the first three batches of DLC should be appearing on the Finnish Store on the 14th November.  Apologies to all our Finnish fans for this delay. From now on the other DLC batches will be released on the Finnish Store two weeks after their release in the rest of Europe.

We’ve also released another batch of Agarest 2 DLC onto the PSN store this week, so make sure to fire it up to get your hands on the following items:

2nd Extra Costumes €2.99/£2.39
2nd Generation Exclusive Pack €3.99/£3.19
Add-on Dungeon 3 Enhambre FREE
Additional Bath Costumes €2.99/£2.39
Bonus Point Pack 5 €4.49/£3.69
Bonus Point Pack 6 €3.99/£3.19
Frensberge Specialty Pack 3 €1.99/£1.59
Overtake Your Rival Pack 2 FREE
Right to the Blacksmith Pack 5 FREE
Right to the Blacksmith Pack 6 FREE
Skilled Hunter’s Survival Pack FREE

Finally I regret to report that it is looking increasingly likely that both Devil Survivor: Overclocked and Devil Survivor 2 will not be released until 2013.  This is incredibly disappointing as we were very much hoping to be able to release both titles this year, but sadly this has not been possible.  It is worth noting that until we announce a release date, any dates you see for these games are unofficial and may be incorrect.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back next week, but until then you can follow Ghostlight on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight. You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.

That's quite disappointing about Devil Survivor :( I was looking forward to getting it before xmas.I'm still thankful that you guys picked up the games, otherwise I don't think the games would have ever come to euro regions. (just my opinion, but it just feels like Atlus doesn't even acknowledge that the euro regions exist, only US/Japan. I don't understand why they don't have some sort of partnership with someone like you guys to release games for the euro regions, to minimise the delay of releases - Overclocked has been out since Aug 2011!)

Well, I still have to get a 3DS so this delay isn't so bad. I'll get both of them next year.

What kind of problems have Sony with DDS? I missed that part.

I really don't understand what coding needs to be done for Europe. All TV's display NTSC video now. And the 3DS is a handheld console so it wouldn't require programmed video options. I really hate this, it's not Ghostlight fault I know but I still hate this rubbish we have to go through and how long we have to wait. What is so freaking different about PAL 3DS that it needs to have coded for. If it wasn't region locked (I hate you Nintendo) it wouldn't need to be coded for you can just slap on a rating and Ghostlight logo.

Two games that already have an english translation… Seriously, ¿why? ¿There will be a compensation or some kind of gift? :(

Any word from Sony regarding the Digital Devil Saga issue?

@Ghostlight_Ross What is so difficult about releasing a finished product like DS Overclocked? USK and Pegi ratings don’t take that long… :/

Real shame to hear about the two Devil Survivor games pushed into 2013. Are these both still with Nintendo? Do you know what the hold up is?

@diaglyph We're pretty bummed about this too, but like you say, at least the Devil Survivors ARE coming. It'll just take a little longer than we expected! ;) Thanks for your support. ^_^

@Andrea000 It's an emulation issue, so it's totally out of our hands. Hopefully one day it'll get resolved. Trust me: if and when that day comes we'll be dancing in the streets! ;)

@neverknowsbest That is actually a very good point. I don't know what to play right now as it is, and November is so jam packed with great stuff it's not even funny. What to do with my free time?? O_o

@mikesn0 I apologise for the delay with these games.  We're very disappointed about it too.

I'm not sure about compensation in the past when we've offered compensation it has been under very different circumstances though.

@animeblog_de changes and testing as well. In this case it was out first 3DS title and some aspects ended up taking longer than we expected.

@animeblog_de It's not as simple as just putting our name on it and getting ratings. There are different requirements which require coding

@Azuardo I don't have all the details yet but both games have passed through the Nintendo submissions process.  I'll try and keep you all updted on the latest news here on the blog of course.

@Azuardo I'm just trying to find out more details of it's current status now.  I'm out of the office tomorrow so I'll try to get back to you on Monday.

@Ghostlight_Ross Just out of curiosity: Could you give an example for necessery changes? Can only think of Pegi and publisher intro+credits

@Ross Brierley Cheers for the response. Like others have said, it's great you guys are even bringing them over. Doing a fantastic job.

@animeblog_de There are various submission requirements that are different from NoA, but I'm not sure that I'm allowed to mention specifics. We've done our best to get this sorted as quickly as possible, but unfortunately it didn't happen, so 2013 it is. :( Thanks for your understanding. :)
