A Saga of Digital Devils

Thu, 15th Mar 2012 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone.  I’ve seen from the comments around here that some of you were quite interested in my vague announcement that the Digital Devil Saga games will be coming to the PSN Store.  Firstly I’d like to confirm that as many of you have already guessed that they will be released under the PlayStation 2 Classics programme and as such will be playable on the PlayStation 3.  The code and metadata are currently with Sony and we’re very hopeful that both these classic JRPGs will be released on the PSN Store before the end of the month, but if not some time during April.  Expect an official release date and price very soon. It shouldn’t be too long now before these devils are available digitally. ;)

The other big announcement that’s been attracting attention is, of course, last week’s reveal of the awesome Fate/EXTRA Collector’s Edition and I thought some of you might be interested in a closer look at the goodies we’re offering exclusively through the Ghostlight Store.

First up, here’s a look at the massive A1 (594x841mm) poster which will be provided to you lovingly rolled in a cardboard tube and not crudely folded and shoved into some box. :)

Feet not Included.

Of course that’s not the only exclusive treat we have for you. Those of you who wondered what a table covered in Fate/The Facts magazine books looks like need wonder no longer.

Et voila!

That’s all for now.  I’ll be back next week when if all goes well I’ll be able to give you details of how to pre-order the Fate/EXTRA collector’s edition and purchase the framed Agarest Zero collector’s Edition but until then, why not follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight? You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.

Great news, I look forward to replaying DDS. When my PS2 died last year I really started to miss all my old games :D
mike says:

i may have been soled on fate/extra
amagidyne says:

That's great news! I'll probably buy them again if we get a 60hz option on DDS1.
[GL] Ross says:

@amagidyne The games are going to be unchanged from their PS2 release so I'm afraid there wont be a 60hz option.
dgnfly says:

@Ross any chance on releasing some avatars related 2 the games you guys release?
Danny says:

I was wondering would it be possible for you to charge me the pre-order once I make the order? This would make it easier for me as the money would have already left my account and all I'd need to do is sit back and relax, and wait for that sweet release date.
Henry says:

A shame about the no 60hz option, Is there a chance I can port all my data from dds1 and 2 though a USB stick? or does the ps3 and vita version's saves use a different code?
Dominic says:

Any news on the Sin w/ TitS pack for AU PSN?
DracEye says:

hhmmm will both Digital Devil titel also be available on PsP?

I am absolutely loving the Fate/Extra Collector's edition, Ross! I just HAD to take another look at it~ XD I hope you'll be easy on us with the price too~ ^^ I'm happy to be seeing my one true love(s?) being revived in the PSN Store too, Digital Devil Saga absolutely kicks butt, and is one of my all time favourites from you guy's ^^. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting it to the EU/UK ^^ As well as that, I wish you guys all the best that you sell those Agarest Zero CE's too and I'm proud to hear that the earnings will be going towards a good cause too~ ^^
[GL] Ross says:

Thanks for all the great comments everyone @dgnfly I'll look into it but it's often something we have to talk to Japan about. @Danny We do charge when the pre-order is made. @Henry I'm not sure. I think you can but I'll try and find out for you. @Dominic It's coming I don't have a date yet but I'll chase it up. @DracEye The PS2 classics programme is PS3 only at the moment.
Mixobarbaros says:

Great news! Here's hoping that Nocturne/Lucifer's Call will follow soon.
Barry Walsh says:

You said it Mixobarbaros, That and Omikron are the two best games ever....athmosphere like nothing else I have ever played.
DracEye says:

Pepsi_Biofusion says:

Awwww come on Ghostlight? The feet are clearly in the picture so I expect feet with the CE, you had to ruin my day didn't you :P To repair my shattered dreams could we get some tibets of info regarding Agarest GoW 2 soon, the odd screenshot maybe? Oh and definitely getting the DDS games if there 15 pounds or less a piece, but tell me, how many feet come with them?
Ringblod says:

Makes me happy to see the Psp still getting games :)
Sins says:

Too excited for Fate/Extra, After looking at the game-exclusive servants, I AM SO picking Caster, shes so adorable. I am really curious as to what the goodies are in Agarest 2 CE.
Andrea says:

/waits even SMT: Lucifer's Call on PSN. ^^
[GL] Ross says:

@Pepsi_Biofusion Sorry about the delayed reply. I missed you post. I'm hoping to eb able to share some Agarest news fairly soon but there's still mquite a way to go with that game. As for the DDS games I am assured they will come with all the feet you can download :)
Fede says:

Very good news!! Mine at day 1. I have lost (and i'm happy of it) at least 1 eye in front of DDS series and Lucifer call!
Marko says:

Hi Ross, what are the chances for Shadow Hearts: From The New World on PSN? I consider buying PS2 for that but if there is any chance for it to come on PSN i would rather wait that! Cheers
[GL] Ross says:

@Marko It will depend on the licence situation as we have to licence the game seperately for release on PSN.
Marko says:

Hi Ross, thx for fast reply! So there is a chance, u are looking into it?
[GL] Ross says:

@Marko I'm out of the office tomorrow but I'll look into it and try and get you an answer.
Marko says:

Awesome, thx for the effort Ross! :) I am sure a lot of people would appreciate the release of Shadow Hearts, definetly one of the best franchises on PS2. Too bad that u didnt rls the first 2, to have complete trilogy on PS2, that would be....sick!
John says:

Have to agree on this one with Marko, it should definetly be something u have to look into, at least!
Marko says:

Hi Ross, any info yet? Cheers
[GL] Ross says:

@Marko I don't have an answer for you I'm afraid on that specific title but we're not planning on stopping with the DDS games.
Marko says:

Hi Ross, oh ok! well, its really sad that such series wont make it, its trully remarkable! hopefully someone will manage to do it! thx for the effort and great work! cheers
[GL] Ross says:

@Marko I'm not saying that we definitely won't be able to put it on in the future but at the moment we have nothing to announce about it.
Marko says:

Well Ross, thats nice to hear, i will be hoping! Cheers
