The Omega Quintet Steam Store page is now live!

Wed, 29th Nov 2017 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone. We've got some very exciting news for those of you who don't regularly keep an eye on the Steam 'Coming Soon' section.  The Omega Quintet Steam Store page is now live, complete with some brand new screenshots and a fantastic new trailer for you to check out.

While there isn't a release date yet, you may want to keep an eye on the blog and on our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts, as I have a feeling that the situation could change in the very near future. :)

So, what is Omega Quintet?

Humanity is in peril! A deadly phenomenon known as Blare threatens to consume all life on earth and is eating away at the minds of humans worldwide. No conventional forces can stop the Blare and it has rapidly spread worldwide. But in one city, a small population holds out against this deadly threat...

Enter the Verse Maidens: five exceptional girls with powerful musical abilities are the only ones who offer any hope. These inspiring, adorable idols must use their powers of song and dance to wipe out the Blare forever. Now the Verse Maidens’ strength and courage are all that’s left to protect the people, their hopes and their dreams…

Omega Quintet is a hybrid JRPG and Idol Simulation. Use your five super-cute idols’ sound weapons against the Blare’s evil forces. Build an arsenal of deadly attacks and skills and hype up your fans to unlock powerful combo attacks.

· Every battle is a stage, so play to the crowd! In Concert Mode gain a boost from your music, fill your Voltage Gauge faster and unlock your most powerful special skills.

· Extensively customize your idols’ looks. Change outfits, accessories, hair and mics. Be careful enemies don’t hit you with an outfit-busting “Costume Break”, leaving you vulnerable to attack and red-faced in front of your fans!

· Sing your foes into oblivion using the “Harmonics” system: weave different idols’ skills into incredibly deadly chain combos. Add each skill in the correct order to multiply the pain!

· Use the powerful PVS system to choreograph and produce unique music videos of your idols greatest hits. Use your mouse to throw in extra effects during the concert

Here at Ghostlight we've really enjoyed working on what we consider a brilliant JRPG, but in case you think we're a little bit biased, check out these reviews:

In their 4.5/5 review Digitally Downloaded were huge fans, saying: "This is, effectively, an independent game from a small, creative team.  And it’s a massive success at being that.  It’s a deep JRPG mixed with both satire and humour, it’s something you haven’t seen before, and most importantly: it’s fun.  Real, genuine fun."

RPGSite gave Omega Quintet a very solid 7/10, saying: "Far and away, the best feature in Omega Quintet are the battles themselves.  Compile Heart put a lot of work into providing a complex system."

Meanwhile Rice Digital said “OmegaQuintet is an amazing title and a great start to the new generation of consoles for Compile Heart.”

I'm sure you'll love Omega Quintet on Steam, so be sure to head to the Steam Store page and add it to your wishlist so you can be notified upon release.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back soon with more news from Ghostlight, but until then why not follow us on our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages, our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight. “Tokyo Xanadu eX+” Closed Beta - applications now open!

Wed, 8th Nov 2017 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone! :)

Some exciting news for you all.  As some of you may already know, we're very excited to be working with our friends at Aksys Games on the PC version of the fantastic Tokyo Xanadu eX+ and, as usual, we will be organising a closed beta for this game.

To join in the Tokyo Xanadu eX+ closed beta, all you need to do is send an email to: betagroup@ghostlight.uk.com with your name, date of birth and the technical specifications of your PC.

Applications will close on 12th November, so please make sure to get your emails to us before then.  As with previous closed betas, we will not be picking people on a random or first-come-first-served basis.  What a ‘yes’ decision actually comes down to, depends on a number of factors including how representative we feel the range of PC specs we’ve assembled for the beta is.

As we only have a limited number of places available, please feel free to tell us why you think you’d be particularly suited to helping us with the beta testing phase of Tokyo Xanadu eX+.  This may include information like details of any previous experience you’ve had in beta testing, or simply declaring your undying love for the genre.  In fact, please tell us anything that you feel is relevant which may help us approve your application :)

That’s all for now. I’ll be back soon with more news from Ghostlight, but until then why not visit the Tokyo Xanadu eX+ website https://tokyoxanadu.us/ and follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, or our Youtube Channel and our  Google + account, where we’ll be posting all the latest news from Ghostlight.  You can also follow me on Twitter for a more personal take on all things Ghostlight.
